November 7, 2008

HOUSTON, Texas—Transtar POS has been recognized as one of the top 50 technology companies in the Houston area based on outstanding annual percentage revenue growth. Ranked number 10 in its first year of consideration, Transtar POS increased 2007 revenue by an astounding 139.81% over 2007.  Transtar POS, a provider of restaurant technologies such as Point-of-Sale systems (POS), has been able to double its revenue every year since its inception in 2003.

“Our ability to double our revenue each year is evidence that customers really appreciate the kind of support we are able to offer,” says Michael Tran, President and CEO. “While other POS providers have been increasing the cost of their support contracts each year, we actually have been decreasing the cost of our support contracts while adding other technologies such as digital signage and digital surveillance.  Because of this, we usually compare very well to other providers because we offer the most value.”

Now in its 8th year, the FastTech 50 awards and recognizes thriving technology companies as well as encourages entrepreneurial growth and development.  Sponsors for the FastTech 50 includes its co-founders, the Houston Business Journal and Pannell Kerr Forster of Texas, P.C., as well as Capital One Bank, 1301 Fannin Street, Oracle, Phillips & Reiter, P.L.L.C., Pierpont Communications, Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, Houston Technology Center and Fox 26 News.  This year, over 360 companies participated in the selection process
